Deutsche Hospitality has announced plans for two Steigenberger hotels in the Chinese city of Hangzhou.

The properties will mark the launch of the Steigenberger brand in China, and are scheduled to open in 2022 as part of the forthcoming Hangzhou Bay Sunac Cultural Tourism City development.

According to Deutsche Hospitality the two properties will consist of a 227-room ‘Steigenberger Classic Hotel’ featuring the brand’s “usual luxury European style”, and a 300-room ‘Steigenberger Future Hotel’, which will offer “state-of-the-art technical equipment in order to deliver a unique avant-garde experience to its customers”.

The 291-hectare Hangzhou Bay Sunac Cultural Tourism City is set to feature four theme parks, as well as hotels, a shopping centre and a residential district.

Steigenberger currently operates around 60 hotels in 11 countries across Europe, Asia and Africa, including the recently opened Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin.
