Marriott Bonvoy has launched a series of offers for its members at the start of 2021. The group intends to give “travel goals a big boost” and help elite status earners progress to the next level faster following the downturn in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The group will deposit 50 per cent of the required Elite Night Credits based on members’ 2020 elite status into accounts in February, giving them a head start towards gaining elite status in 2022. The group is also reducing the spend threshold for achieving Ambassador Elite status by 30 per cent this year to US$14,000 – this will return to US$20,000 in 2022.

Additionally, the group is reducing off-peak redemption rates globally by ten per cent for all future reservations until September 30, 2021, when booked by February 21, 2021. The group advises that the new pricing may take time to show up on the system.

Looking ahead, the group promises to open up registration for its new global promotion Better Two-gether, allowing members to earn double the number of points and Elite Night Credits for stays of two nights or more between February 16 and April 27, 2021.

The announcements follow a raft of initiatives introduced last year for members, including the extension of elite status earned in 2019 through February 1, 2022, and paused points expiration until August 1, 2021.
