All-women Air India crew fly from San Francisco to Bengaluru

Air India had announced the launch of the first direct flight between Bengaluru (BLR) and San Francisco (SFO) back in November 2020.

Scheduled to start from today, January 11, 2021, the flag carrier of India will operate this service twice-weekly.

In a first for Indian aviation, an all-women cockpit crew of Air India has taken off this inaugural flight between Bengaluru and San Francisco.

The inaugural flight AI176 departed from San Francisco in the USA at 2130 hours (local time) on Saturday and it will land at the Kempegowda International Airport at 0345 hours (local time) on Monday.

The Air India flight will fly over the North Pole, taking the Atlantic route to reach Bengaluru.
