Bengaluru airport has rolled out a 24-hour Covid -19 testing facility.

Located near the arrivals area of the Terminal, the NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) and ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) certified RT-PCR testing centre is managed and operated by Bengaluru-based Auriga Research.

A sample collection kiosk will be set up inside the terminal and a state-of-the-art laboratory outside the airport terminal. A waiting lounge with strict adherence to Covid-19 safety protocols is part of the facility.

The service can be availed by international arrival passengers who are unable to get a test done prior to boarding their flight. The service will also be available for the departing passengers, who need to produce a Covid-19 negative test report at their destination.

Under the express test method on the Abbott ID Now, the test result would be available in less than 15 minutes. The cost of the test varies:

Test Type Cost Result
Rapid PCR (Abbott ID NOW) ₹ 2,400 13 minutes (express turn around)
RT-PCR ₹ 800 Normal turn around (24Hrs)

Passengers need to wait in a specially demarcated area until the test results are out. Reports will be shared directly with the respective passenger through digital platforms. As per government protocols, the results of all samples will be registered on the ICMR website.

The slots can be pre-booked here.

A detailed standard operating procedure has been put in place to manage people who test Covid-19 positive at Bengaluru Airport.
