Intercontinental Hotels Group has opened a Holiday Inn Express property in the capital of Malyasia’s Sabah state.

The Holiday Inn Express Kota Kinabalu City Centre is located around 15 minutes from the city’s airport, and features 250 rooms with 43-inch TVs and complimentary tea and coffee facilities.

Other features include a fitness centre, self-service business centre and laundry room, free wifi throughout, and a meeting room accommodating up to 12 guests.

The property represents IHG’s first hotel in East Malaysia, and to celebrate the opening guests can get up to 50 per cent off room rates for stays until June 30, 2021, when booking ‘Opening Specials’ rates by March 31, 2021.

Other international brands present in the city include the Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel, which opened in 2018, Hilton Kota Kinabalu, Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, and Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa.
