The Gleneagles estate has announced plans for an Edinburgh city centre hotel.

The Gleneagles Townhouse will be housed within a listed building on St Andrew Square, formerly headquarters of Bank of Scotland, and is scheduled to open in autumn next year.

Features will include 33 rooms, an all day dining restaurant and two bars, one of which will be located on the rooftop with a terrace overlooking the city.

The property will also be home to a members’ club, “bringing together a community that has a passion for exchanging ideas, discovering new obsessions, collaborating together and simply having fun, with access to exclusive private spaces and on-site gym and wellness”.

The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire is owned by UK-based developer Ennismore, which recently signed a deal with Accor to create a new 12-brand global lifestyle hotel company.
