Hilton has announced plans to debut its first hotel on the Greek island of Crete in 2021.
The group has signed an agreement with lifestyle hotel company Troulis Royal Collection to open a property under its upscale Curio Collection brand.
The Royal Senses Resort Crete, Curio Collection by Hilton will be located in the Rethymno region on the north coast of the Greek island, close to attractions such as Melidoni Cave and Knossos Palace.
The new-build hotel will have 179 rooms with sea views, along with facilities including a private beach and marina, a spa, indoor and outdoor pool, water park, and tennis courts.
The property will also feature seven restaurants and bars, including Greek restaurant Cretamos, which will showcase recipes “inspired by Cretan grandmothers throughout time” paired with the island’s finest wines from its wine cellar, buffet-style venue Gea, and grill restaurant Mitato with a menu focusing on shared platters and lamb dishes.
There will also be a marketplace featuring pop-up shops of local restaurants and shops, poolside bar Euphoria, snack bar Sphere, and lobby bar Zeno which will serve cocktails crafted from Cretan liquor Raki.
