Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) has been ranked a Five-Star Global Airline by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX).

The APEX Official Airline Ratings™ is the first airline rating programme based solely on certified passenger feedback and insights gathered through APEX’s partnership with TripIt® from Concur®.

Using a five-star scale, more than one million flights were rated by passengers across nearly 600 airlines from around the world and independently certified by a professional external auditing company.

SAUDIA’s ‘Five-Star’ rating took into consideration several factors including investment in human capital; in-flight service development; intensive crew training; fleet, seat capacity and network expansion; on-board product development and enhancement; digital services, enhanced airport terminal experience; and COVID-19 preventative safety measures.

The carrier was awarded the ‘Five-Star’ accolade at the recent Future Travel Experience APEX Virtual Expo. The airline previously received the Four-Star rating from APEX in 2017.

2020 marks the 75th anniversary of Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier, one of the first airlines established in the Middle East region.

In recent years the carrier has invested significantly in its fleet of 144 narrow- and wide-body aircraft and operates one of the youngest fleets in the skies, with an average aircraft age of five years.

SAUDIA’s route network includes more than 95 destinations across four continents to all 28 domestic airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
