Oman is set to offer nationals of 103 countries a free 10-day visa on arrival to the Sultanate, Royal Oman Police said last week.

Eligible visitors must present a confirmed hotel reservation, health insurance and a return ticket, the authority revealed on its Twitter account.

The move aims to support the tourism industry and bolster the Sultanate’s economy.

If follows a recent announcement that Oman will resume granting tourist visas to people visiting on trips arranged by hotels and travel companies. They were previously suspended due to the pandemic.

Oman’s Supreme Committee for Dealing with COVID-19 announced November 11, 2020 that travellers to the Sultanate are now required to undergo a PCR test within 96 hours before arriving in the country and a second test upon arrival at the airport.

The decision followed the resumption of commercial international flights to and from the Sultanate on October 1.
