Marriott has opened the first hotel under its extended-stay Residence Inn brand in Mexico.

The 151-room hotel is located in the northern area of Merida, the inland capital of the state of Yucatan, and a 20-minute drive from Paseo Montejo – a wide boulevard which is home to historic monuments.

The hotel features spacious suites with separate living, working and sleeping areas, including fully equipped kitchens. Additional amenities include complimentary grocery delivery service, a 24-hour shop, a communal laundry room, and a fitness centre.

Residence Inn Merida also has approximately 80 sqm of meeting space, comprising flexible rooms which can cater to 50 guests.

Arturo Cruz, Sales Director of Residence Inn Merida, commented:

“Merida has been recognized as one of the best cities to live in and has gradually become an economic force for the country by opening up national and international investment opportunities. The spacious suites with separate living, working, and sleeping zones and fully functional kitchens will help guests maximize their time and thrive while they travel.”

Earlier this year, Marriott announced that it would debut the Residence Inn brand in Puerto Rico in November 2021.

Marriott has a portfolio of 860 Residence Inn properties in over 15 countries and territories.
