
Premier Inn has opened a new London flagship hotel today off The Cut in Southwark, London.
The new hotel, is between Ufford Street and The Cut in Southwark, around 100 metres from Southwark underground station and a five-minute walk from Waterloo station. The 274-bedroom consists of two hotel buildings connected via a glass bridge. Bar and Block restaurant, Whitbread’s all-day dining steakhouse, is on the ground floor with outdoor seating. The development also has a new public park and courtyard.

The hotel was designed by Dexter Moren Associates and built by principle contractor Gilbert Ash. It is Whitbread’s fifth Premier Inn hotel in the London Borough of Southwark joining hotels at Borough High Street, Tate Modern, Tower Bridge and Bankside. The development was designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.
Premier Inn has further central London openings coming in the next few months, with a new 110-bedroom hub by Premier Inn hotel scheduled to open on Berwick Street in Soho in early 2021 and a 246-bedroom hub by Premier Inn will be coming to Quaker Street in Shoreditch in February 2021.
The brand has over 800 hotels with over 78,000 rooms. Restaurant brands include Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table, Bar and Block, Whitbread Inns and Cookhouse and Pub.
Outside of the UK, Premier Inn’s expansion plans are focused on Germany where the business has a pipeline of more than 10,000 Premier Inn rooms across 53 hotels in Germany – increasing to 12,000 rooms following the completion of the acquisition of 15 hotels from the Centro Hotel Group.
