Qantas and Accor have announced plans for a new strategic loyalty partnership, due to launch in mid-2021.
The initiative will see a number of new benefits, including the ability for members of the groups’ loyalty programmes to earn both Qantas Points and Accor Live Limitless Reward Points on hotel and flight bookings, also known as “double dipping”.
The benefit will apply to Accor hotel stays in the Asia-Pacific region, and to Qantas domestic and international flights.
The groups also promise “more opportunities to redeem points as well as a suite of exclusive will be the first partnership of its kind between an airline and hospitality group in the Asia Pacific region benefits for top-tier members”, without going into further detail.
The partnership will build on the existing agreement allowing members to convert Accor Live Limitless Reward points to Qantas Points at one-to-one rate.
More details will be sent out to members of both programmes early next year.
Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth said that the partnership was “an entirely new way to recognise the loyalty of our frequent flyers which we know will be very popular”, while Accor Pacific CEO Simon McGrath commented:
“We are joining forces to enable our customers to be part of something special, delivering exceptional travel benefits and unrivalled service for people who enjoy our two much-loved brands,” Mr McGrath said.
“Customers are at the heart of this joint venture and the combined strength of Accor and Qantas will bring significant extended benefits.”
