British Airways has reopened one of its lounges at Heathrow airport following customer feedback. This comes just a couple of weeks after the airline decided to close all of its lounges due to the onset of a national lockdown in the UK.

The Galleries North Club at Heathrow Terminal 5 reopened on November 16 as a customer waiting area, featuring a reduced selection of individually wrapped grab and go items and a choice of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. The lounge will be open daily from 0500 to 2200.

The airline commented on the news:

“Over the past few months, we know how much you’ve enjoyed spending time in our lounges at Heathrow, Terminal 5 and unfortunately we had to close them at the beginning of this month.

“We have listened to your feedback and we’re happy to announce that from Monday, 16 November, we will be re-opening our Galleries North Club lounge as a customer waiting area with a reduced selection of grab and go items.”

The airline intends to reinstate the Your Menu service “once the UK national restriction period has been lifted” and reopen the Galleries South Club and Galleries First lounges at Terminal 5 “as soon as [they] can”.

The airline has also temporarily suspended its flights at Gatwick airport in response to the national lockdown.
