Preferred Hotels and Resorts has extended the benefits of its loyalty programme to reassure members amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The “I Prefer” programme is free to join and allows members to earn points for eligible stays at participating hotels.

The group is extending the points expiration date for all members globally through to June 30, 2021. Points normally expire after 24 months of inactivity. Any points that were set to expire in the coming months will be available to redeem for I Prefer Rewards certificates – these are accepted as payment at participating hotels.

Preferred has also announced that its Elite members (those who have earned 50,000 points within one year of joining) will maintain their status through to June 30, 2022, regardless of their travel activity this year.

Members will not have to take any action for these extensions to occur, and the updates will be reflected in their accounts by the end of December 2020.

Preferred Hotels and Resorts has a portfolio of over 700 hotels and resorts worldwide, and has recently seen 38 new properties join the loyalty programme, including Park Central Amsterdam (pictured), Middle Eight in London, and Hayfield Manor in Cork, Ireland.
