Luxury hotel brand One&Only Resorts will open its first resort in Europe in 2021 with a property in Montenegro, located in the coastal town of Herceg Novi.

The One&Only Portonovi is set to open on March 21, 2021, nestled in the Bay of Kotor on the Adriatic Coast. The hotel will be part of the Portonovi marina village, located just 50 minutes from Tivat Airport and an hour from Dubrovnik.

The resort will have 113 rooms, suites and villas with floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as ten private homes with views of the Bay of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Interiors are “inspired by cerulean seas and emerald valleys, terracotta rooftops and crisp silver mountainsides”, blending old European architecture with the natural palettes of Montenegro.

One&Only Portonovi will have a Chenot Espace Wellness Centre, which will offer treatments that include “detoxifying programmes” and “next-generation technology in skin care”. The resort will also have 11 pools, landscaped gardens and access to a private beach and jetty – guests can explore the coastline from the 238-berth D-Marin Portonovi Marina on site.

Dining venues will include Sabia by Michelin-starred chef Giorgio Locatelli, Asian fusion restaurant and pool club Tapasake Club, lobby bar Caminetti, and à la carte restaurant La Veranda – the latter will also offer a buffet of local Montenegrin delicacies.

The hotel will encourage guests to explore the region by offering various activities, including hiking, private tennis classes by renowned Serbian tennis player Janko Tipsarevic, and luxury yacht adventures.

Montenegro will soon be home to a host of luxury properties, with Marriott International also planning to bring its Ritz-Carlton brand to the country in 2023.

One&Only Resorts belongs to Kerzner International, which also owns the Atlantis Resorts and Residences and Mazagan Beach and Golf Resort.
