Thai hospitality group Dusit International has signed an agreement to operate the first Dusit-branded hotel in Japan. The Dusit Thani Kyoto is set to open in 2023 in the Honganji Monzen-machi district, just 850 metres from Kyoto Station.

The 150-room hotel will be set over four floors, with facilities including a Thai-themed all-day dining restaurant, a Japanese speciality restaurant, a lobby lounge and bar, function rooms, and fitness and wellness facilities.

The Dusit Thani Tokyo will be close to various attractions, including UNESCO World Heritage Site Nishi Honganji Temple, and a 10-minute train journey from Gion, the city’s most famous Geisha district.

Dusit International signed the hotel management agreement with Yasuda Real Estate Co. Ltd., a property developer based in Tokyo.

Dusit International’s portfolio comprises 339 properties operating under six brands across 14 countries. The company already has a presence in Japan through Elite Havens, a provider of high-end vacation rentals in Asia, which manages a collection of ski chalets in Niseko.
