British Airways has announced that it will close its airport lounges at London Heathrow owing to the UK government’s latest national restrictions. The Galleries South Club and First lounges at Heathrow Terminal 5 will be closed from Thursday November 5.

This news comes after the UK government announced a ban on non-essential travel as part of its plans for a four-week national lockdown from November 5 until December 2.

British Airways commented on the news:

“Due to the UK Government’s national restrictions, our lounges at Heathrow Terminal 5 will be temporarily closed from November 5. We will continue to follow government guidance and keep our customers updated with any changes.”
