In an attempt to create a new Guinness World Record, Dubai will unveil the “world’s largest fountain” on October 22.

Set to be located at the Pointe, a lifestyle and dining destination, “The Palm Fountain” will spread across 1300 sqm of sea water. Its super shooter will be 105-metre tall and the fountain will feature over 3,000 LED lights.

The fountain will have 20 bespoke shows with five different shows running daily between sunset and midnight (1900 to midnight); these shows will feature the fountain swaying to the rhythm of popular songs including Khaleeji, pop, classic and international tunes. Each show will last three minutes and will be performed every 30 minutes.

“We look forward to the inspiration this will bring customers at The Pointe, residents of Palm Jumeirah, our retailers, tourists and the wider community,” said Omar Khoory, managing director, Nakheel Malls.

Guinness World Records is currently in the process of verifying it as the world’s largest fountain and once the verification is completed, the landmark will be officially declared.
