Effective from October 1, 2020, Indian low-cost carriers Goair and Indigo will shift flight operations to Terminal 2 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi.

“Important announcement for all Goair passengers, effective October 1, 2020, all domestic flights to and from Delhi will arrive and depart from Terminal 2. Please ensure you check your terminal information prior to travel,” said Goair in a tweet.

Similarly, Indigo tweeted,  “Travel advisory, Delhi terminal change. Flight numbers 6E 2000 – 6E 2999 will operate from Terminal 2 starting October 1, 2020.”

Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, president and chief operating officer, Indigo said:

“We are working very closely with the Delhi International Airport (DIAL) to shift nearly half of our domestic operations from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 at IGI Airport. As the capacities grow, operations from Terminal 2 will also allow adequate space to maintain social distancing guidelines while providing a safe and hassle-free travel experience.”

While Goair will shift all its domestic operations to Terminal 2, Indigo will only shift some of its flight services.

This decision to shift terminal is due to the surge in traffic at Delhi airport.

To ensure highest standards of safety, Delhi airport has launched Covid-19 testing facility for international passengers who are either entering the city or transiting through it.
