Uttarakhand lifts travel restrictions

Tourists travelling to Uttarakhand no longer need to produce a negative Covid-19 certificate, the state government said in an official statement.

Moreover, the requirement of mandatory stay of a minimum of two days in a hotel or homestay is also not applicable anymore.

However, travellers coming by any mode of transportation need to register themselves on the web portal smartcitydehradun.uk.gov.in, prior to their visit to Uttarakhand.

While negative test report is not mandatory before check-in, other measures like thermal scanning, sanitisation, among other protocols for hotels and restaurants will be complied with. Hotels can implement their own set of procedures for guests coming to their property.

In case a tourist is found Covid-19 positive, the hotel management should inform the district administration immediately.

The district administration will make arrangements for random checks to ensure that guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India are being followed by hotels and homestays operating across the state.
