Motohom X MTDC - camper-van (large)

The state of Maharashtra has much to offer to travellers, from the Sahyadri hills to the glorious caves of Ajanta and Ellora.

The concept of travel is transforming immensely post the advent of the pandemic; and one kind of travel experience that’s gaining much momentum during these times is that of road-trips.

Keeping up with this trend, MTDC (Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation) in association with Motohom (Moving hotels on Wheels) have launched caravan services.

Motohom currently has two types of caravans or camper-vans on offer: a minivan designed for a couple of people, and a traditional motorhome ideal for small families.

The small-sized minivan, a Toyota Innova redesigned, features a repurposed trunk and rear passenger seat area that can be converted into a flatbed. It is equipped with amenities required to cook a meal on the go. A detachable sleeping space can be fitted on the roof for more room.

The large-sized camper-van features a small bedroom, a kitchen, a living space, a bathroom and a terrace area on the roof.

Both vehicles offer a waste disposal system, GPS tracking and circuit cameras to aid security.

The vehicles can be booked via Motohom’s website. While the camper-van can be hired for ₹20,000/day, the small-sized camper-van will cost you ₹4,000/day.
