Under phase 6 of Vande Bharat Mission, the Indian government has announced a repatriation flight between Tokyo, Japan and Delhi, India. The flight will be operated on September 20, 2020.

Indians stranded in Japan, and having compelling reasons to travel back, must register here.

Embassy of India in Japan tweeted:

For Indians looking to re-enter Japan, a set of revised guidelines have been issued.

As per the protocols, all foreign nationals with the status of residence, who had left Japan before August 31, 2020, with a valid re-entry permit, are now eligible to re-enter Japan from September 1, 2020.

  • Indians who left Japan on or before May 26 can return to Japan based on re-entry confirmation letter (to be issued by the Embassy of Japan in Delhi, or Japanese Consulates in India). They need to have a negative PCR test 72 hours prior to departure from India.
  • Those who left Japan between May 27 and August 31 can also now return on the re-entry confirmation letter.
  • Indians who leave Japan from September 1 onwards need to get a receipt to re-enter the country from the Immigration Services Agency of Japan.
