Radisson has opened its first resort in the Maldives.

A private island retreat in the Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, Radisson Blu Resort Maldives is 105 km from Velana International Airport. Guests can take a 30-minute seaplane direct to the resort or a 20-minute domestic flight from Malé to Maamigili Airport followed by a 15-minute speedboat ride.

All 128 beachfront or overwater villas come with private pools, ocean views and one, two- or three-bedroom options. The Presidential suite offers two levels of indoor and alfresco living space overlooking the sea.

Their F&B selection comprises Raha, the casual all-day dining spot; Alifaan for Mediterranean and seafood grill; Eats & Beats and Crusoe’s for cocktails and spirits.

In addition, there is Kabuki showcasing innovative Nikkei cuisine; Mahurab, an exquisite overwater wine and cigar bar; and The Lab, an exclusive restaurant for intimate twice-weekly wine-and-cocktail pairing dinners.

Recreational offerings include a diving and water sports centre, an overwater spa and yoga pavilion, fitness centre and sports court. The glass-walled event hall is ideal for an intimate wedding ceremony.

Andre de Jong, vice president, Operations, Southeast Asia and Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group said, “We are thrilled to open our first resort in the Maldives, one of the world’s most idyllic and iconic tourist destinations.

“Radisson Blu Resort Maldives is a truly spectacular property; its collection of pool villas, diverse dining, world-class leisure facilities and event space, all underpinned by Radisson Blu’s unique ‘Yes I Can!’ service ethos, will suit all types of travellers. We look forward to introducing a new era of authentic and inspiring hospitality to the Maldives.”
