TAP Air Portugal has outlined plans to increase flights over the next two months.

The carrier said its network would reach 66 routes in August, rising to 76 the following month, as it aims to reach 40 per cent of normal operations bySeptember.

This will equate to around  500 weekly round trip flights in August and 700 in September, by which point TAP plans to be operating 22 long-haul flights per week to Brazil, 30 weekly flights to North America across eight routes, and 59 flights per week to 13 cities in Africa and the Middle East.

Across Europe the airline’s network will reach 498 weekly flights to 35 European cities, and there will be 159 weekly domestic services between six Portuguese cities.

TAP stressed that its plans may be adjusted “in view of the dynamics of the evolution of taxes and restrictions in the various countries, due to the evolution of the pandemic, as well as the evolution of demand”.

The carrier has also extended its ‘Book with Confidence’ initiative, allowing customers to make free changes to bookings made by August 31, with original travel dates between July 1, 2020 and October 31, 2020.
