The Hotel Britomart, New Zealand’s first 5 Green Star hotel located in Auckland waterfront’s Britomart neighbourhood is scheduled to open on October 1, 2020. The launch experienced a few weeks of construction delays owing to the pandemic crisis.

It is developed by Cooper and Company and designed by Auckland-based Cheshire Architects. The hotel has already received a 5 Green Star certification from the NZ Green Building Council for its design.

The exterior is characterised by brickwork. Nat Cheshire from Cheshire Architects says, “The trick has been to take that almost archetypal building material and to jump it forward into the 21st century so it feels like it belongs to this time but is leading somewhere new.”

Celebrating the heritage and essence of the region it is located in, the property boasts 104 well-equipped guestrooms and suites complemented by contemporary interiors such as a snug timber-lined walls, built-in sofas, tiled bathrooms and handmade ceramics.

From Italian to Vietnamese and delectable desserts, visitors are spoilt for choice with a wide variety of F&B options in the neighbourhood.
