Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Government of India has issued new updates on Vande Bharat Mission flights operating between India and the UAE.

Under this, charter flights operated by UAE carriers to bring stranded India back to their homeland will be allowed to carry Federal Authority for Identity and Nationality (ICA) approved UAE residents on their return leg (India to UAE).

Likewise, Indian carriers like Air India and Air India Express undertaking repatriation missions to bring Indians back, can carry ICA approved UAE residents on the outward journey from India to UAE

On the India-UAE journey, these flights will carry only those passengers whose destination is the UAE.

This new arrangement will be carried out from July 12 until July 26, post which a review will be done as required.

MoCA said in an official statement, “As part of the close strategic partnership between the governments of India and the UAE, and with a view to assisting UAE resident nationals who are present in India to return to the UAE, the civil aviation authorities of both countries have agreed to operationalise this agreement from July 12.”
