Iberia is attempting to get its loyalty members to fly with the carrier over the next two months, with the offer of up to quadruple Elite Points on flights up until August 31.

The promotion is open to Iberia Plus members who book flights by July 15, for travel up until the end of August.

Routes up to 3,000 miles will attract quadruple Elite Points, while longer flights will benefit from double Elite Points. Iberia said that the 3,000 miles limit covers its Spain, Europe, North Africa and Middle East network.

The carrier said that members would be able to choose from 40 destinations to get quadruple points in July, and 50 in August – last week Business Traveller published an updated list of Iberia’s planned domestic and European routes over these months.

The number of long-haul routes currently being served by the airline is limited – selected services are now running to destinations including New York, Miami, Chicago, Mexico City, Montevideo, Santiago de Chile, Santo Domingo, San Jose (Costa Rica), Quito and Dakar, with flights to Havana, Lima, Panama, San Juan (Puerto Rico) and San Salvador resuming in August.

Iberia said that the promotion would “help Iberia Plus members to make up for the Elite points they may have lost by not flying during the worst months of the pandemic”, adding that it followed “relaxed conditions” announced in March which “made it possible for 60 per cent of members to keep or even raise their levels in the programme”.
