The restart will see the carrier using 36 aircraft from July onwards, almost half its fleet.
The announcement came yesterday as the airline’s hub airport at Vienna, suffered widespread problems due to a burst water main causing an IT failure. Both the airline’s website and call centres were out of action for several hours.
Due to water damage at Vienna Airport, which unfortunately also affected the Austrian Airlines computer center, our IT systems failed early this afternoon. Among other things, our website https://t.co/YLEBDoRZ3z and the telephone systems of our service centers were affected. pic.twitter.com/YN9CBJJvwL
