Austrian Airlines is planning to fly to over 50 destinations in July.

The airline says the destinations “include various European capitals and major cities, Greek holiday islands and long-haul destinations. In total, the restart offer will quadruple from initially five to 20 percent of last year’s programme.”

The restart will see the carrier using 36 aircraft from July onwards, almost half its fleet.

The announcement came yesterday as the airline’s hub airport at Vienna, suffered widespread problems due to a burst water main causing an IT failure. Both the airline’s website and call centres were out of action for several hours.
