Marriott Bonvoy has announced two new promotions to encourage stays as hotels gradually reopen worldwide.

Around 5,500 of the group’s “open and participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels” will be priced at off-peak redemption rates for bookings made by June 30 and stays completed by July 31.

Marriott says that no hotels booked and stayed during the periods above will be priced at peak, although some will still be priced at standard rates.

The group has highlighted some participating category seven and eight properties which are being priced “entirely in off peak in Europe for much of July”, including the W Amsterdam and St Regis Rome (both now open), The Shelbourne, Autograph Collection, Dublin (opening June 29) Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seville (opening July 1), and London Marriott Hotel County Hall (opening July 4, dependent on current restrictions being lifted).

In addition Marriott Bonvoy is depositing member accounts with Elite Night Credits “amounting to 50 per cent of the nights required for the status they earned in 2019”. These will appear in accounts in late July.

Finally Ambassador members who earned status in 2019, and who reach 100 Elite Night Credits this year (50 of which will be deposited as per the above), will be able to share Platinum Elite status with another person.

The latest offers are in addition to the previously announced elite status and benefits extension and pausing of points expiration, and the 60 per cent bonus on purchased points (running until June 30).
