Langham Hospitality Group has announced plans to open a new hotel and residences on Australia’s Gold Coast.
The 169-room Langham Gold Coast and 170-apartment Jewel Residences by The Langham will both be housed within the tallest of three towers making up the Jewel development in Surfers Paradise.
The hotel is scheduled to open at the end of 2021, and will be located between the third and 20th floors of the tower, with the residences taking up the 22nd to 49th floors.
In a press release the group said that the three towers “are reminiscent of three colossal quartz crystals”, “inspired by the gemstone shards discovered in the region”.
Features will include signature Cantonese restaurant T’ang Court with two private dining rooms, Palm Court lobby lounge and bar, a sky terrace and bar, 500 sqm of spa facilities including seven treatment rooms, a gym, indoor free form pool and a second outdoor pool, and meeting and events space including a 700 sqm ballroom.

All of the hotel’s 18 suites will offer 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean, and the interiors will reflect a “coast meets the city” theme, with a “soothing blend of teal, azure and tan shades derived from the local flora and fauna”.
The Langham Gold Coast will join the group’s existing properties in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as an Auckland hotel under its Cordis Hotels and Resorts brand.
Commenting on the news Stefan Leser, chief executive officer of Langham Hospitality Group, said:
“Combining the cosmopolitan vibrancy and relaxed lifestyle for which the Gold Coast is renowned will certainly position The Langham as the quintessential luxury urban resort.
“We are very much looking forward to complementing our legendary service standards with the warmth of this beautiful city to make our all guests’ experiences celebratory and memorable.”
