American Airlines has confirmed plans to resume flights to a number of European destinations in August.

Flights will operate from Charlotte, LAX, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Raleigh-Durham to London Heathrow from August 5.

Other transatlantic routes set to resume on the same day include Charlotte to Munich, JFK to Paris and Madrid, Miami to Madrid, Chicago to Athens, Barcelona and Dublin, and Philadelphia to Madrid and Zurich.

Ahead of this flights will also resume between Dallas and Dublin from July 7.

AA is currently operating a daily service between New York JFK and Heathrow, a frequency which will remain until at least August 5.

The carrier has also scheduled the return of flights between Phoenix and London for October 25. Prior to the coronavirus pandemic this route had been boosted to year round.

AA has also updated its schedules to include resumed flights from Miami to Rio and Sao Paulo (August 5), JFK to Sao Paulo (August 5), JFK to Buenos Aires (September 9), Miami to Buenos Aires (September 9), Dallas to Sao Paulo (October 25), and Miami to Santiago (October 25).

Today the carrier also announced a ramping up of its domestic services next month, alongside the reopening of selected Admirals Club lounges.

Finally the airline has launched what it is calling a ‘Summer of Deals’ promotion, including double AAdvantage miles for customers pre-registering at aa.com/summerofdeals and booking flights during June, for travel before September 30.
