Bespoke Hotels has announced plans for the second property under its Hotel Brooklyn brand.
The 191-room hotel is set to open in 2022 next to Leicester’s Welford Road Stadium – home to the Leicester Tigers rugby union team.
Features will include The Lair Restaurant and Bar, and American-style diner concept Runyon’s, which will be located within the hotel’s five-floor atrium space. There will also be “extensive conferencing and events facilities both in the hotel and inside the stadium”.
As with the brand’s existing Manchester property – which opened in February – the hotel will champion “beautifully-designed accessibility for all”.
The property is partnering with Motionspot, the UK’s leading accessible design company, to include accessible ‘Liberty’ rooms, and to ensure that all public spaces – from the reception, and restaurant, to bars, lifts and communal loos – feature an accessible design element.
Commenting on the news Robin Sheppard, chairman of Bespoke Hotels, said:
“We are thrilled to have secured this fantastic site in Leicester – right next door to the Welford Road Stadium. Being built by our trusted partners Marshall CDP, with whom we have worked several times before, we believe Hotel Brooklyn is a perfect fit for Leicester.
“It will bring a destination hotel into the heart of the city, attract a new audience of customers and, we hope, become a business of which the city will be truly proud.”
