TAP Air Portugal has announced plans to resume flights to North America from next month.

This “Ready to go” page on the carrier’s website lists flights which are currently operating, along with plans for services in June and July.

From the start of next month TAP will resume flights between Lisbon and Newark, followed by routes from Lisbon to Boston, Miami and Toronto, and from Ponta Delgada in the Azores to Boston and Toronto from July. All flights will operate twice weekly except for Ponta Delgada-Boston which will be thrice weekly.

To South America the carrier is already operating services from Lisbon to Sao Paulo and Rio, and will add flights to Recife and Fortaleza in July.

African routes from Lisbon to Maputo and Luanda will resume in June, followed by flights to Dakar, Praia, Sao Vincente and Sal in July.

Within Europe the carrier is currently only operating two flights per week to both London Heathrow and Paris CDG.

These will be increased to twice daily services from July, when routes will also be added to destinations including Brussels, Geneva, Zurich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin, Dublin, Nice, Lyon, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Luxembourg, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Milan and Rome.

Despite the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, TAP Air Portugal last month announced plans for a new route between Lisbon and Cape Town this winter.
