VisitBritain, the national tourism body of the United Kingdom (UK) is playing a key role in maintaining England’s global presence during this pandemic crisis.

To understand what more is in pipeline from the UK for Indian tourists, Business Traveller India exclusively speaks to Tricia Warwick, regional director, VisitBritain.

“First of all, my heart goes out to all of you in India, both consumers and the travel industry alike as we weave our way through these difficult times. We have such a strong relationship between the two countries, which will again prosper,” says Warwick.

In terms of travel trends, she said that there is reassurance in safety, hygiene, and all those kinds of measures that make people feel comfortable and secure when they are travelling.

She adds, “We are already working on our confidence package, which really will enable all sorts of players, be it airlines, transportation, attractions, taxes, hotels among others.”

While she is hopeful that international travel will open up soon, it is the domestic market that will get the push first.

She emphasises on the need to be in constant connect with travel agents and tour operators; as all-important updates by the tourism board are conveyed to them on a frequent basis.

Reiterating on further strengthening the UK-India bond, she quotes the Queen and says “We will meet again” soon.
