The Indian e-commerce company Paytm has launched a “contactless in-store ordering” technology for restaurants and eateries, to promote a safe and hygienic dining experience post lockdown.

Paytm has created a unique QR that will be displayed at restaurants — in the first phase, over one lakh restaurants are expected to be on board.

How to order using this Paytm mode:

  • Scan the QR code to check the complete menu on the Paytm app, thereby avoiding the need to touch the menu card.
  • Place the order and get live updates while waiting for the order to arrive.
  • Pay the bill from the Paytm app using UPI, Wallet, net-banking, and cards.

The restaurant owners will get a customised Store page for their brand on the Paytm app calling out this safety feature, which will increase their visibility.

“Our product can also be seamlessly integrated with the existing point of sale (POS) to offer a hassle-free and contactless experience to both the customers and the outlet,” said Paytm in an official statement.
