Reward seat availability finder seatspy.com has officially launched in the UK, with new premium tiers and the ability to search across flights with four major European carriers.

The service has been running in beta mode for several months, initially covering British Airways and Virgin Atlantic flights, but has now expanded to include Air France and KLM services, with more set to be added over time, including “major US carriers”.

Users input their departure and arrival points, preferred cabin (optional), and whether they are looking for a one-way or return reward seat, and are presented with a calendar detailing availability for the year ahead.

They can also create an alert for specific routes and date ranges, and be sent a notification when there is reward seat availability.

The free Economy membership allows members to make unlimited searches on British Airways reward seat availability, and to get daily email alerts.

The new Premium tier meanwhile allows up to four active searches on all airlines, with alerts being sent hourly. A founder member deal means user can currently subscribe to this tier for £1.99 per month, with the first three months free. Those subscribing after May 27 will pay £2.99 per month.

Finally the First Class tier allows unlimited active searches across all airlines, as well as instant email and SMS alerts. This costs £2.99 per month for those subscribing before May 27, after which the monthly fee for new subscribers rises to £7.99 per month.

Whatsapp alerts will also be added for Premium and First Class members in the near future, and First Class members will also have access to “Experience alerts” (an example given being hotel rewards) when they launch.

In a release seatspy said:

“Despite the Coronavirus negatively affecting the travel industry, award flights are becoming increasingly popular for people who are looking forward to the point where travel restrictions are relaxed.

“Award flights are changeable or cancellable, and the fact that there is currently an unusually high amount of award seat availability means this is a great time to be planning ahead.”
