Philippine Airlines (PAL) will operate a one-off flight from Melbourne to Manila on April 19.

The flight will depart Melbourne Airport at 0800 local time, and arrive in Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 1440 local time.

The one-off Melbourne to Manila flight will be allowed to carry only Filipino nationals/Philippine passport holders, their foreign spouse and children, and officials from foreign governments and international organizations “to comply with current Philippine travel entry restrictions”, said the airline.

The flight will operate on an Airbus A330 aircraft which has the capacity to carry 309 passengers, according to the airline.

The carrier said those who wish to purchase a ticket on one of these flight have to call PAL Australia Reservations at 02 9249 9900, or email [email protected].

“Please write Sweeper flight in the subject line of your e-mail and include complete passport details or attach a screen grab or scanned copy of your passport data page,” said PAL in a statement posted on its website.

Philippine Airlines said it is planning to resume some other international and domestic flights on select routes in May.

The carrier said it plans to operate a number of weekly flights to Japan, the US (including Guam), Canada, Australia, the UK, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia and South Korea in May.

The airline said it will announce the list of operating flights “as soon as possible” in an updated travel advisory on its website once the details have been finalised.
