Indian Ministry of Tourism launches webinar series

India’s Ministry of Tourism has launched a new initiative that allows you to explore the length and breadth of the country, virtually.

Dekho Apna Desh” or “See Your Country” is a series of webinars that hosts sessions on different cities of India; highlighting their tourist attractions, history and culture.


Titled “City of Cities – Delhi’s Personal Diary”, its first webinar on April 14 explored the rich history of the national capital.

The next webinar was hosted today (April 16), taking visitors on a virtual journey across Kolkata.

“The series of webinars shall be an on-going feature and the ministry would work towards showcasing the diverse and remarkable history and culture of India, including its monuments, cuisine, arts, dance forms. natural landscapes, festivals and many other aspects of the rich Indian civilisation,” said Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State for Tourism and Culture.

The next webinar will take the participants on a virtual walk through the ancient port city of Mamallapuram to discover its myths and majesty.

India’s tourism has seen a major blow due to the national lockdown during this Covid-19 crisis. However, the Ministry of Tourism is promoting Indian destinations virtually via this initiative to encourage citizens to plan their travels in advance and learn about the country’s heritage.

Incredible India is the name of an international tourism campaign maintained by the Government of India since 2002, to promote tourism in India.
