Sri Lankan Airlines, the flag carrier of Sri Lanka has announced the temporary suspension of all its flights from April 8 to April 21, 2020, due to the travel restrictions (amidst COVID-19) imposed by the destinations that they fly to.

As per the official statement, “The airline is constantly reviewing the market conditions and the restrictions imposed by the various authorities and will be ready to recommence its operations at short notice even before the April 21 in the event such restrictions are lifted.

“The airline is willing to operate special flights during this period to repatriate the Sri Lankans who are wanting to return to the country if required.” The airline will continue to operate its cargo service.
