In an effort to support temporary accommodation needs of the medical frontline force fighting Covid-19, Make My Trip has launched an initiative called ‘Stays for Saviours’.

The Online Travel Agent (OTA) has rolled this initiative across 26 states and four union territories in partnership with hotel chains and independent hotels that are pitching in to support healthcare workers.

The initiative enables medical practitioners to discover and book from over 900 hotel properties across 200 cities in India on the Make My Trip app.

Hotel chains like The Park Hotels, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Ginger Hotels, Lemon Tree Hotels, Sarovar Hotels, Royal Orchid and Golden Tulip Hotels Chain are offering subsidised prices for India’s healthcare workers.

At check-in, health care workers will be required to show their valid ID cards to ensure that the special rooms and rates are utilised by the medical fraternity only.

“The global outbreak of COVID-19 is making us live through extraordinary times and the exceptional service of front line workers who are fighting this on behalf of humanity needs everyone’s support and encouragement. We are grateful for the courage shown by healthcare workers and we want to assist them by providing comfortable and subsidised accommodation options to these heroic first responders. In solidarity with their sense of service we want to do our part in making it a little easier for them to find temporary accommodation that suits their needs at this point of time,” says Deep Kalra, executive chairman at Make My Trip.

The initiative is live on the app of the OTA.
