United Airlines has cut flights to Tokyo Narita, Osaka, Singapore and Seoul for the months of March and April, and extended the suspension period for flights to mainland China and Hong Kong until April 30 in the wake of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

Previously, United had suspended flights to Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai and Hong Kong until April 24.

*Business Traveller Asia-Pacific previously reported that United will begin operating new non-stop routes to Tokyo Haneda Airport from from San Francisco, Chicago O’Hare, Los Angeles, Washington and New York Newark starting March 28 this year, and that it will suspend its Chicago-Narita and Washington DC-Narita services when the new flights to Haneda begin operations.

The US carrier added that its new daily Tokyo Haneda service will not be affected.

United said it will stay in “close contact” with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other health organisations as it continues to evaluate its schedule.
