The first Centurion Lounge at busy Charlotte Douglas International Airport is now open.
The facility is the 11th operating under the American Express Centurion brand.
“From premium amenities, to a taste of some of the region’s best culinary offerings, we’re excited to bring this new location to cardmembers traveling through Charlotte,” said Alexander Lee, vice president of loyalty and benefits at American Express.
The new, 13,000-square-foot Centurion Lounge location will feature a premium dining menu curated by Joe Kindred, local chef and semi-finalist of the James Beard Awards. It will be located post-security on the top floor of the airport’s new Plaza area, between Concourses D and E.
Kindred is the chef owner of Kindred in Davidson, and Hello, Sailor in Cornelius (both in North Carolina), with his wife, Katy Kindred.
Menu items at the Charlotte lounge will include buttermilk fried chicken, grilled cauliflower steak, milk bread French toast, and country ham biscuits.
“I’m thrilled to partner with American Express to bring some of our southern hospitality to Charlotte Douglas International Airport,” said Kindred.
Other lounge amenities include a complimentary bar with cocktails created by mixologist Jim Meehan and wines selected by Anthony Giglio, a custom mural by local artist Amanda Moody, shower suites, family rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows with airfield and downtown skyline views, dedicated workspaces, power outlets, private phone areas, and access to high-speed wifi.
The Charlotte Centurion lounge is open to Amex Platinum Card, Centurion and Delta Reserve Card members.
