Hilton will launch a 250-room, Curio Collection branded hotel on the island of Langkawi in Malaysia in 2023.

The Nautilus Resort is set to be the first property under the Curio Collection brand by Hilton in Malaysia and Hilton’s first property on Langkawi. Hilton has signed a 15-year management agreement with Inspirasi Langkawi to build the new hotel.

The company said The Nautilus Resort is located nine kilometres from Langkawi International Airport and five kilometres from the Star Cruises Jetty, a ferry terminal on the island.

“The resort will boast stunning, unobstructed views of the Straits of Malacca, with its prime location in the centre of famous beach town Cenang Beach, south of the island and in close proximity to a number of attractions, bars and restaurants. Guests will enjoy direct access to the sea, complete with clear waters and a white sandy beach,” reads the press release.

The Nautilus Resort will feature three food and beverage outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant and a rooftop bar. The hotel will also have a kids’ club.

The property will also offer an event space spanning approximately 680 sqm and a ballroom of approximately 350 sqm.

“We are always on the lookout for the right opportunity to expand our footprint across the region with the right partners. The island of Langkawi needs no introduction as it consistently ranks amongst the most popular resort destinations in South East Asia, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Inspirasi Langkawi to bring to life a brand new, unique Curio Collection property in the heart of Cenang Beach,” said Guy Phillips, senior vice president, development, Asia and Australasia, Hilton.

The Nautilus Resort will be part of Hilton Honors, the guest-loyalty program for Hilton’s 18 hotel brands. Members have access to a “flexible” payment slider that allows members to choose nearly any combination of points and money to book a stay, an exclusive member discount, free standard Wi-Fi and access to the Hilton Honors mobile app.

Hilton currently operates 11 properties across three brands in Malaysia. It describes its Curio Collection as an “upper-upscale” portfolio of more than 90 hotels and resorts.
