Boutique hotel group Nadler Hotels has unveiled its new name The Resident.

The Nadler name came from former CEO Robert Nadler (who left the company at the end of 2017), and was itself a rebranding of the original Base2stay name.

The group confirmed the news in a Facebook message posted on Wednesday, and also provided Business Traveller with a statement from current CEO David JM Orr:

“We are delighted to be launching a new British hotel brand, The Resident. With the ongoing support of the owners and founders, particularly Mactaggart Family and Partners, we are announcing a new hotel brand that truly reflects what our guests appreciate.

“The Resident emphatically puts the guest at the heart of everything we do, offering a meaningful travel experience where guests can connect with the local neighbourhood and feel like a resident.

“We look forward, in the near future, to announcing responsible and sustainable growth plans for The Resident.”

There are currently five properties under The Resident brand in London and Liverpool. Business Traveller has reviewed several of these, including The Nadler Covent Garden in 2019, and The Nadler Victoria in 2016.

The group had also been set to open a 110-room Manchester property within the proposed new-build St John’s Place tower close to the River Irwell, but reports suggests that the project has stalled and Nadler/The Resident is no longer part of the plans.
