Spanish flag carrier Iberia has unveiled the new uniforms that 6,500 members of its air and ground crews will be wearing from May 1.
The designs by Teresa Helbig were showcased at Madrid Fashion Week and feature blue, red and yellow shades.
Uniform items include dresses, suits, skirts, trousers, shirts, blouses, overcoats, handbags, cardigans, blazers, waistcoats, scarves, knitted jumpers, polo shirts and neckties.
“The jackets are a touch retro, while there’s an attractive unisex flair to the coats, and the women’s trousers are anything but rigid – they facilitate women’s movements,” said Helbig.
“All are garments that we would be happy to wear for everyday. There’s a reinterpretation of the iconic straight skirt, and we have given special importance to the accessories.”
Iberia’s fellow International Airlines Group member Aer Lingus will introduce its new uniforms on February 10, while British Airways crew should get new designs by Ozwald Boateng soon (the launch was initially scheduled for 2019).
Last year new uniforms were unveiled by airlines including Japan Airlines, Aeromexico and Oman Air.
