Vietnamese flag carrier Vietnam Airlines plans to launch a new route between Da Nang and Shanghai from January 19, 2020.

Flights will depart from Danang at 17:55 and from Shanghai at 23:20 (local time) every Thursday and Sunday.

This marks the 19th Vietnam Airlines route in operation between Vietnam and China, the airline said in a press release. Other direct routes include Shanghai – Danang – Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City and Danang – Shanghai – Hangzhou – Danang.

To celebrate the launch of the new route, Vietnam Airlines is offering round-trip airfare starting from US$227 (inclusive of taxes and fees) for tickets issued from December 30, 2019 to January 31, 2020, with departure times between 19 January and March 28, 2020. Tickets are purchasable via Vietnam Airlines’ official website, mobile app, ticketing offices, and agents “under certain conditions”.

Vietnam Airlines has added several new routes in the Asia-Pacific region recently, including daily flights between Hanoi and Macau, as well as two new routes to the Chinese city of Shenzhen.
