NH Hotel Group will finally open its Nhow London property in January.
First reported on by Business Traveller back in 2015, the contemporary four-star property will be located between the City, Islington and Shoreditch, in the 250 City Road development designed by Foster and Partners.
The hotel’s website has now been updated to state that the property will open on January 2, 2020, along with confirmation that “guests staying on this date will receive a free souvenir”.
Nhow London will be the brand’s first UK property, with other open and forthcoming locations including Berlin, Milan, Rotterdam, Marseille, Amsterdam, Rome, Brussels, Frankfurt, Santiago and Lima.
Earlier this year the group announced plans to open a Nhow hotel on the roof of a Hamburg air raid shelter.
Nhow London will feature a restaurant/pub, bar, gym, networking spaces and meeting rooms.
Themed ‘London Reloaded’, the interiors have been designed by architect James Soane, combining “British icons with unconventional contemporary elements”. These include a Big Ben rocket sculpture in the lobby and a wood installation around an LED fireplace.
According to NH Hotels, the property’s Bell and Whistle pub “is all about modern British comfort food that will leave you with a full stomach and a smile on your face”.
“The menu puts the spotlight on prime, seasonal, British vegetables, with the finest cuts of meat and fresh fish served on the side,” continues the website.
NH Hotel Group was bought by Thailand-based Minor Hotels in late 2018.
