Qatar Airways has unveiled its latest inflight safety video, featuring current and former football players including Brazil’s Neymar Jr.
The video is set in a locker room, and sees PSG star Neymar guiding Q Suite passengers, while Poland’s captain and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski demonstrates how to use a life jacket.
Former Roma and AC Milan defender Cafu – who played 142 times for the Brazilian national team – also makes an appearance, helping a younger version of himself to attach an oxygen mask.
The six-minute video is part of the carrier’s ongoing partnerships with FIFA, Roma and Bayern Munich, with Qatar Airways sponsoring this year’s FIFA Club World Cup, and the 2022 World Cup – both being hosted in Qatar.
Commenting on the video the airline’s senior vice president marketing and corporate communications, Ms Salam Al Shawa, said:
“At Qatar Airways, safety is priority one and we want to ensure everyone, including our most frequent travellers, watches our safety briefings.
“The wonderfully creative concept from 180 Kingsday will capture our passengers’ attention whilst providing a fun, light-hearted video to get the in-flight entertainment underway.
“The level of quality and attention to detail in this video is paramount and I am sure the content will both inform and amuse our global passengers of all ages.”
Airline safety videos are increasingly becoming mini features, with celebrities and sports stars often used to get the message across.
Recent examples include the Air New Zealand rugby-themed video starring Suits actor Rick Hoffman as well as current and former All Blacks rugby union players; and Korean Air’s video featuring K-pop artists SuperM and BoA.
