Spicejet has entered into a codeshare and interline agreement with Emirates. This agreement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by both airlines in April this year.

Commenting on this new partnership, Ajay Singh, chairman and managing director, Spicejet said, “We are very pleased to partner with Emirates for this new codeshare agreement which will offer a seamless travel experience and the widest possible travel options to our passengers travelling to and from Europe, America, Africa and the middle east. This codeshare would further strengthen our position in the region and complements our international expansion strategy.”

The deal will allow travellers to have more flight options on routes common to both airlines. These include Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Cochin and Delhi. Additionally, Emirates’ customers can book and connect seamlessly in Dubai on direct services to Amritsar, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, Madurai, Jaipur and Pune – routes served by Spicejet.

Through this codeshare, travellers can book tickets for any of Emirates’ nine points across India and connect onwards to 172 domestic routes that are part of Spicejet’s network. Goa, Dehradun, Dharamshala, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Guwahati, Pondicherry, Port Blair, Shirdi, Tirupati, Udaipur and Varanasi are few popular destinations on Spicejet’s domestic network.

According to the initial phase of interline agreement, bookings are now open for travel starting December 15, 2019.

Soon, Spicejet passengers travelling from India to Dubai will also be able to access Emirates’ expansive network across the globe. spicejet.com, emirates.com
