Dallas will get its first Mandarin Oriental property in 2022.
The 176-room hotel will be located in a 25-storey mixed-use tower in the Texan city’s Turtle Creek neighbourhood.
It is set to have four restaurants and bars, including an all-day dining option, a lobby lounge, MO bar and speciality restaurant, as well as meeting and event facilities, a spa, gym and outdoor pool.
The tower will also house 100 Residences at Mandarin Oriental on its upper floors, intended to be “some of the most exclusive homes in the city.”
The Hong Kong-based group says its Residences combine the “comforts of a private home combined with the unsurpassed amenities and legendary service of Mandarin Oriental.”

The hotel will be owned and developed by Dallas-based JMJ Development.
James Riley, CEO of Mandarin Oriental, said:
“We are delighted to announce a Mandarin Oriental property in this dynamic and sought-after Dallas neighbourhood, together with a premier residential project.
“We look forward to extending the Group’s presence into one of America’s most important business and leisure destinations.”
Timothy L Barton, CEO of JMJ Development, commented:
“We’re proud Mandarin Oriental is now part of our luxury portfolio.
“This development will be a welcome addition to the prestigious Turtle Creek neighbourhood and will set a new standard for luxury service in Dallas.
“It will offer a preferred choice to clientele who demand the finest accommodation.”
Other Mandarin Oriental hotels in the Americas are in Boston, Canouan, Miami, New York, Santiago and Washington DC.
The group announced it would open a Lucerne property in late 2020, a Nanjing property in 2022, and a second Istanbul property in 2022.
Its London hotel reopened earlier this year following a fire in 2018.
